1. WELCOME REMARKS BY THE CHAIRMAN

      1.1 Cllr Plummer welcomed everyone to the meeting.

4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
4.1 The minutes of the Annual Parish Council meeting 14 July 2021 were agreed and  signed by the Chairman.

 

5. PLANNING

6. CORRESPONDENCE

      6.1 Age UK has asked if there is anyone who would be willing to volunteer to welcome and   register visitors, help them complete a Covid test, register the result, assist with correct  donning and doffing of PPE and generally make them welcome at Care homes to help relieve staff.

      6.2 Grantham Transport Strategy invite for input to the future of local transport.

      6.3 Berkeley Homes re the hedge to the right-hand side on entrance to The Gardens.

      6.4 A resident concerned about the speed of tractors through the village.

      6.5 SKDC survey re the facilities within the village.           

       

7. FINANCE
7.1  Income was noted since 14 July 2021 to date as outlined in the respective financial reports
7.2 It was resolved to approve the expenditure since 14 July 2021 to date as outlined I n the respective finance reports
7.3 HSBC Bank is changing it terms and conditions, from November the accounts will levy a monthly charge plus each cheque will be charged for.The Clerk presented alternative banks that had been researched with the Co-op Bank being the preferred one.It was proposed by Cllr Mould, seconded Cllr Marsh and unanimously agreed for the Clerk to open an account with the Co-op Bank.
7.4 It was unanimously agreed for the Clerk to move ringfenced money into the saving account from the current account.

 

8. VILLAGE CROSS

8.1 The total raised so far is £14422.19
8.2 Two quotes for renovation have been received

a) Stamford Stone £17710.00 including VAT plus additional items ie toilets, scaffolding and any other ancillary items.

b) RLS Restoration £16000.00 including VAT.

A further quotation is being sourced.

Each quotation has advised different courses of action.When all quotes have been received, they will be each be considered against the needs.
8.3 Meetings with SKDC planning and other bodies are in place to find out information and gain permission to do the renovation.

 

9. QUEENS JUBILEE

9.1 It was agreed that there was a need to get all the different groups in the village together for a meeting for planning the event ieWI, Fundraisers, Village hall, Agra

 

10. BEST KEPT VILLAGE

10.1 Winners of the medium sized village: - First: - Harlaxton, runners up:-Thurlby, Fulbeck.

 Winners of the small sized village: - First: - Stubton, runners up:- Swinstead, Welby.

 

11. PLAYING FIELD

11.1 Bonfire night is to be discussed with The Fundraisers group.

11.2 RoSpa report this year was excellent compared to previous years.  A big thank you was given to David Smedley for all the work he has done since the last report. 

11.3 It was agreed to purchase new football nets and basketball net.

11.4 The marquee’s damaged tops are in the process of being replaced.

11.5 Playing field hire agreement is being finalised.

11.6 The Petanque is proving to be popular with currently two regular playing times, Thursday and Sunday from 3pm. It was agreed to finance the correct surface material For the area as the current gravel is unsuitable and damaging the players boules.

 

12. TREE PLANTING

 12.1 An application for trees for planting in areas around the village has been sent by Cllr Goodall.

 

13. AFGANISTAN REFUGEE ASSISTANCE

 13.1 Cllr Mould is trying to find out if any assistance in collecting items for the refugees is   required.  Currently the Sleaford centre is full and has closed its doors to further donations.  It appears that housing is the main issue.

                                                                                                     

14. ST JAMES GRAVEYARD FOOTPATH

 14.1 It was agreed to purchase gravel for the footpath to try to prevent the quagmire of  previous winters.
