For too long now, Allington, along with Sedgebrook, Foston and Marston have been without a reliable bus service.
Villagers who use the doctors and pharmacy at Long Bennington or Grantham have great difficulty in accessing them if they do not drive. A visit to Grantham is almost impossible without a vehicle. Call Connect is available, however you have to book well in advance, but sometimes an emergency trip to the doctors or a requirement to visit the retail shops in town cannot be planned in advance.
Allington Parish Council are distributing with this months Allington News a bus survey to present to Lincolnshire County Council as evidence that the village needs a regular bus service.
Please complete the survey and return it in the allocated boxes in the Welby Arms, Village Hall, Holy Trinity Church and The Gardens Office.
You might not need a regular bus now, but who knows what the future will bring and your need for access to public transport.
